Greetings from San Francisco
« on: August 11, 2011, 11:18:09 PM »
I'm happy to be a member of such a great forum for SOHCs. I recently bought a 1973 CB750 K3 with under 8,000 miles. The guy I bought it from said it was sitting in a barn since '79. He put fuel, and I'm assuming oil in it, hooked it up to a car battery, and it started right up. The guy said he nearly hit the floor when he heard it. Supposedly it has a big bore kit and a new clutch that was installed before it sat in the barn. I'm looking to make it a cafe racer, but first gotta get it road ready  8)

Update: I am now a happy owner of a 1976 CB750 F1. This is my project bike. I have to sell the K3. If you know anyone that might be interested let me know!

Also, if you plan on being in the city and want to talk bikes send a message.

Shawn:  I'm a new member and just saw your post.  I'm over in Walnut Creek, but my bike's at Charlies in San Francisco being prepared for the street after 20 + years in storage.  Just thought I'd tell you, if you didn't know, that Charlie's is the place in the City for info on older and vintage Honda's - that's all they work on.   Good luck with the bike!~

Cool. The San Francisco Bay area connection. I'm have a 76 cb750 f1 on its way. I can hardly wait. It needs some work but broke the bank buying the bike otherwise I'd take it Charlie's. Do you guys know any SF folks who wrench on bikes? It would be cool to get together and talk shop.

That would be great. I've been wrenching on the bike and learning a great deal but foresee needing help with tuning. I'm doing the carbs, cam chain and valve adjustment, and brakes front and back. It would be helpful to compare notes with another bike guy. I'll look out for that PM. Cheers.

Thanks! The forum's been a great resource for my project and I've spent countless hours researching. Glad to finally be working on the bike as parts are arriving.
