he absolutely hated being known as the "Cherry Pie Guy"
Warrants Label said the "Uncle Tom's Cabin" album (now known as Cherry Pie) didn't have a hit single, so he wrote Cherry Pie as a joke.
He's been battling that and his other addictions for a while.  RIP

loved that video tho  ;D

Metallica's "Black" album soon after signified the death of "hair metal".
I cant believe its been 20 years since that came out.
I went to that show as a guest of Lars' dad, Torbin.  8)

Respectfully, I think Nirvana's 'Nevermind' (released a year later in 1991) did more to kill hair metal than anything Metallica ever produced.

47 is NOT old. I don't know...writing a "crap" song that makes you a lot of money, gets you girls , fame etc really isn't such a hard thing to live with considering the options. There are far worse things to have to endure and shoulder for a lifetime IMO.

Yeah he had fame and such but if you read a biography about him, he taught himself to play drums, guitar, and piano.

That's great. Is there a problem with that?

I'm sure any royalties from that song are going to the members of Queen and David Bowie.

Seen a thing on Rob Van Winkle (vanilla ice) not long ago he released 7 versions of the tune. He now owns several companies ranging from construction to movie and music production. Seems that financially he is doing very well

I am not sure what you are getting at here? I never said anything bad about the guy. He had issues and they caused his death. Seems to me, the exact same thing happened to hendrix, joplin, and others.
I just posted it so people could read it.
