I picked this Bike up a while ago and we are mid way through a frame up restoration...

The tank was the first thing that was worked on...

It was cut open, blasted inside and out, and resealed. All work was completed by Moyer Tank Restoration.

Body work and Paint was completed by John Hartnett.

All Emblems, and trim will be replaced with OEM.

The paint is a version of the original Candy Bacchus Olive. We took out some of the candy and gave it a darker more metallic tint.

The frame was the next...

All of the black pieces were stripped, sandblasted and given a two stage, black epoxy paint.

Well its time for the rebuild..

Pirelli Demons, New OEM Rims and Spokes, laced by Gary Broudeur.

All chrome either shined or replaced with OEM.

All bushings and seals replaced. Wiring harness tested.

Motor's being finished tonight, first over kit, new pistons and rings, should be in the frame by tomorrow.

Mac 4 into one chrome will be fitted tomorrow.

I really like how that frame came out 2 stage epoxy? Is that as durable as powdercoat? What kind of cost would I be looking at to have my frame done like this.

I chose the epoxy because it looks great and corrosion protection of epoxy is hard to beat. The other reason i picked an epoxy is because its easier to touch up. If you scratch a powdercoated frame its tough to fix and I plan on driving the hell out of this bike.

The total cost to powdercoat was a little bit less, I think about $150 less.

More work completed!

The motor is done and in the frame.

The front wheel and brake is finished.

Should start it up tomorrow!

We finally got the motor into the frame, hooked up the gas tank, and threw in some oil. The bike started up on the second kick and it started on the electric start before a short in the hand control smoked up. It hasn't run in 17 years so its a great night. We have some finishing touches, then the first 20 miles to break in the new pistons and rings. Cant wait to ride it!! It sounds great with the MAC 4 into 1 but the quality of the MAC is terrible.
