Texas Guy
« on: August 14, 2011, 11:15:22 AM »
Hey yall I live in the panhandle of texas and have a 1971 cb750. I'm here for advice, I am trying to turn my bike into a cafe racer. Along the way i plan to rebuild the front forks, Engine? and whatever else it needs. Hopefully stop it from leaking so much oil...

Depending on what shape your bike is....you may wanna reconsider hacking it up. KO-K2 are getting harder and harder to come by and are commanding lots more money than newer bikes. If your bike has certain parts that came stock with it....you could probably sell it and buy 2 or 3 newer ones to hack up.Don't get me wrong...I'm not tryin' to tell you what to do.....it's your bike .....do with it as you like. Just sayin'....

He has a nice looking bike.  Shiny too!  It would be a shame to cut it up.

I can see a mild cafe'ish style to it but it would need to be able to go back to stock.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Howdy!   Welcome!  :)

It's your bike, you can do anything you want with it but remember it will always be worth more in the end if it can be returned to stock.  ;)

Check the "Good Sellers" thread for links to recommended parts suppliers. One seal per side for a total of two. You will want to replace the copper crush washer under the fork drain bolt too (one per fork).
