I got Blue Ridge an hour from the house. We are actually near Quantico and in every B movie when they run for it, they make it to Mount Weather in 30 minutes or so. LOL.

I wish we lived higher, do you know that posion ivy does not grow over 5000 feet? That's a good enough reason to move, don't you think?

I also wouldn't go trying that too often, you can develop the allergy I think.

I know what you mean. In 1985 I had an opportunity to move to Aurora, Co. I wasn't exactly sure I wanted to go there from where I was in No.Ga. until my partner, who wanted me to go there and run a dry cleaning operation he wanted his parents to retire from, told me he had a $160K Condo at Winterpark ski resort, and I could use it anytime I wanted. The car was packed about a half hour later and my girlfriend and I were on our way to Colo. with jobs waiting. We closed that store every Friday night and headed to the mountains.

From what I understand, reaction to urushiol get's stronger on every exposure. Means once you brake in reaction there is no way back. Seems kinda odd, but that's what the resources say.

I can touch it once in the spring, and then I'm sensitized to it..
How did the Indians deal with it?

I think I would trade my poison ivy immunity in order to not get chigger bites.

Really if there was a mountain pass near by why would you not be riding there anyway? Just bring the camera along.

Hey 70CB750.
I would say it is a mountain pass. KVR ( kettle Valley Railroad ) Pass route.
Most or it is for hiking & bicycle touring only, but there is a section were both vehicles are aloud (Chuke lake ).
Very beautiful view of Kelowna B.C.

You can see the trestle below the bridge rails. This is a defunct rail spur that runs over Bassett Creek to the closed Con Agra business. Astute followers of the hunt will remember the Con Agra building from earlier in the thread.

These wooden rail bridges are usually hard to find now. As a kid we had a larger one near our farm that crossed the Crow River (long gone now). We often climbed on the creosote covered timbers and jumped into the water. The passing trains would always blow their whistles and the engineers would wave out the window. Ahh...the old days.
