Photo Scavenger Hunt
« on: August 15, 2011, 12:45:12 PM »
I've been playing on another forum and I think it would be cool to do it here as well.
It's a SCAVENGER HUNT for things you look for, find & take a picture of with your bike in the picture.

Rules are simple:
1. All pics MUST include your own bike with the 'mark'. If your bike isn't in the picture it does NOT count.
2. All marks must be clearly visible in picture
3. Once a mark is posted, the person who hit the mark gets to call the next mark.
4. No law breaking allowed including trespassing to get a mark, it's gotta be accessible to anyone,(whatever!).
5. No pictures, paintings or other facsimiles of the mark in the photo, gotta be the real thing & NO Photoshop type stuff.
6. Once you get a mark & call the next one, someone else has to get a mark before you can hit one again.

7. ALL MARKS WILL RECIEVE A ONE WEEK,(7 full days), TIME LIMIT.
If the mark is not found in that time a new mark needs be called.

* Not really a rule, but let's keep it interesting & so no stupid stuff like a fence or a dog - use your imagination & your bike to get to it.
Also, naming a mark like a mountain or ocean means 90% won't be able to get it so make your marks accessible.
If you really think about it, there are probably more things within a 30 minute ride of anyone than you could name.

Bonus points are given (worth exactly nothing but fun to go for) for any of the following:
1. Bike is one you built/chopped/modded in some way.
2. You are in the picture in addition to your bike.
3. Extra bonus points if you are wearing SOHC swag in the picture.
4. Extra, Extra bonus points if a pretty girl is on your bike when the picture is taken.

I will start off with a working barge.

How about a water tower for the next mark.

AH not to argue but in your "rules" u say no ocean.  Then mark a barge.  Most are in a ocean and I do relies u are in MI with no ocean but some very large bodies of water most dont have access too.. ;D
OK now someone needs to post godzilla on a barge!!!!!!
18 grand and 18 miles dont make you a biker

I did the barge just as a place to start.
Now it is up to someone else to do the water tower.

 Sorry just trying to understand.

Go ride your motorcycle to a water tower.
Get off your motorcycle and take a picture of your motorcycle in front of the water tower.
Post your picture of said water tower.
Tell us were you want the next picture taken.

I like this idea! :)
If I ever have the chance again to ride anytime but to/from work I'll do my best to participate.  I already have a really good idea for a picture. 8)

You'll have to forgive Terry.  He's suffering from PBR withdrawal, and it's all my fault... :-[ :-[

They're everywhere here in North Texas.  It's so flat there's no higher elevation to store the water.  There's a cool old style metal sphere water tower on my way to work.  If I have time I'll get a picture tomorrow.

Ok went out and got 3 water tower pics so srust58 beat me to it.
So my animal pic is a stretch as the bikes are barley visible.
It was on the relay ride with the big G.   Have 4 witneses those are our bikes.
Bikes are behind the left knee of mama.  Not going to name the next as others will have something better.

You're too quick, Srust!  I managed to get a picture next to the old water tower on my way in to work earlier, but there are no card readers on the computers at work.  I'll go ahead and post it when I get home later since I have it.

Are we still on the large animal sculpture, or are we counting Terry's picture?  If we're still on it I've got a good one I should be able to get tomorrow morning as long as nobody else gets one first.

I know I started this thread, but I just swiped the idea from a different site.
Don't see anything in the rules about previously taken pictures, but the whole idea is to get your bike in the picture, not sure how to call this one.

I just took these pictures tonight and will leave it up to the rest of the group to decide how to rule this one. Never seen this type of thing on the other site.
Doesn't really matter much, but maybe for further pictures, your bike should be in the fore ground.

Will wait for the group opinion before posting the next target.

Well, either way you definitely got the shot, and since Terry opted not to call the next one I'd say it's yours to call.  That sucks because I had a good animal statue lined up for tomorrow.  I just don't have the time to get out on a moment's notice these days.

I like the idea of having the bikes in the foreground, and I also think it will be more fun if the pictures are taken after the mark is called.

O.K. how about your bike with a cop car, extra points if the cop is in the picture.
Extra extra points if you are hand cuffed or sitting in the back seat. ;D

This picture was taken last winter in Goodland, Fl. outside Stan's.

If we want the bike in the shot lets just keep that in mind when calling a mark.

Having the bike in the shot is rule #1. ;)

Here's my water tower picture.  This one's right next to my work.

If I didn't have the kids with me this morning I could check this one off quick.  Just ride down the street to the donut shop.

This was the closest non "police only" spot to a cop car, and since there were a bunch of them hanging around I figured it wouldn't be smart to park in the fire lane. ;)

The next mark is a Beer Truck.  Bonus points if it's an import brand or any non-budweiser/miller/major brand beer truck.
