Your picture is of a moden locomotive.
A steam engine will be a little more difficult, but not impossible.

cb650- does my steam engine work? This is a Corliss Steam Engine. A Corliss steam engine is a steam engine mostly used to power factories.

Would you care to explain that.

My understanding is Thomas Savery invented the first crude steam engine, Thomas Newcomen improved it and James Watt gave us what we now know as the steam engine. George Stephenson then was credited with inventing the first Steam Locomotive. I don't know his wifes name but he had a son named Robert.

My apologies. Paul Stevenson and his wife Hazel donated the LAND and building to house this steam engine exihibit. This is actually a Corliss model steam engine. A Corliss steam engine is a steam engine invented by and named after the American engineer George Henry Corliss. Mostly used to power factories. Does it still count or is the steam engine mark still out there?

Had a friend that drove one in high school. Anytime I rode in it I'd pull off door panels and various other interior parts for fun. Seemed like it was all just clipped-together cardboard.

I don't doubt it. Many years ago, a Yugo was blown off the Mackinac Bridge during a gale. Needless to say, the driver, a young woman, didn't survive the 200 ft plunge to the water.
