I have a 75' CB550. I removed the wiring harness and replaced every single wire brand new by hand. The bike runs absolutley great but it will not charge! I have a Rick's motorsports solid state reg/rec. I sent my reg/rec along with my alternator back to Rick's to be tested to find out which is bad. Turns out the reg/rec went bad, alternator was ok. Ok cool it's under warranty no big deal. Get a new one sent out, hook it up, bam no chagre to the battery! I'm posting my charging system wiring on here for you guys to take a look at, just want to see if I'm correct with my wiring, thanks everybody.
Alternator Yellow>Reg/Rec yellow X3
Alternator White>Reg/Rec white
Alternator Green>Grounded on frame
Reg/Rec Green>Grounded to frame X2
Reg/Rec Black>To igntion side of key switch
Reg/Rec Red>Straight to battery to recharge
Pretty straight forward, just need a second opinion.
