Topic: 100 link Diamond Chain Part#/Info ?

I found this part # at KSCdirect for $55.30 + shipping.

I found the info on Diamond chains in HONDAMAN'S book, and have read a couple threads regarding the 530 x 102 link chain and it's part # BUT since I am running a 17T/48T sprocket set it sounds like the 100 link will fit better (someone please put me in my place if I'm wrong here)

So far I have found no info on sohc4 forum regarding part #'s for a 100 link 530 standard Diamond chain.

These are the questions that are causing me to go cross-eyed searching for info...
Has anyone purchased the 530 Diamond chain at 100 links, will it fit 17x48 sprocket config. comfortably, can anyone confirm the part# and do their chains include a masterlink/clip?

The 102 link 530 chain you found should work just fine. Or you could just remove a link.  Check the following link to a HondaMan post about this very subject.  He states he prefers the 102 link chain with the same sprocket combination.

Yes it comes with a press-fit clip master link.

Some further info: My sprockets are 17 x 45 and it seems like an 18 x 48 might need an extra link or two - just guessing.

I'm giving up on standard chain. I just switched to RK x-ring with a clip link. I just got back from an Alaska bike trip (Goldwing - not 750) and saw lots of dual-sport bikes up there. Whenever possible I asked about chains and pretty much the answer was "wipe it off once a day and shoot some lube on - adjust every 10 - 15K miles. I lube and adjust a diamond chain every 100 miles and it's a pain in the neck. I hope the x-ring works out.
I've read Hondaman's view and it just doesn't work for me. I'm very careful about adjustment and lube but the wear is more than I want to deal with. A small loss of power is a small price to pay for not having to screw with a chain at every stop.

OH MAN!! I am a big FAIL in the chain and sprocket dept. I thought this would be easy but there is so much conflicting info waiting to prey on the weak minded ( that'd be me )

Thats where I got the idea that a 530 100 link chain is well paired with a 17T counter and 48T rear. It made sense to me at the time. I read the Hondaman link referenced by lone*x ( believe me I had already read that among others) and quickly developed a hard on for Diamond chains. It is standard vs. O-ring on the two threads we have referenced here, could this be the difference? Hondaman mentioned somewhere about a 100 link std Diamond chain being a good fit for a cafe racer, so maybe he was referencing the 17T/48T pairing. 

Can someone set me straight so my wife doesn't find me in a damp dark corner of the garage rocking back and forth in the fetal position

Mel, you're right. It's a std vs x-ring question. I've used diamond mc chain since the 70's and I think it's probably your best bet for std chain. Why don't you try one and see how it works out for you. If you don't have to adjust it all the time, you're probably set. After all, it was good enough for us back then. Be sure to lube it often though. I lube mine every 100 miles or so while it's warm. If you are perpetually adjusting, think about an x-ring. But x-ring chais are MUCH wider than standard and some people here have had them hit and wear through the transmission case. It has clearance on my 750 K0 and another member here told me he has no trouble on his K1. I think 550's have some clearance issues.
