What is the function of the oil passage plug?

if it's the 2 in the lower crankcase half, I believe they were to do with the case manufacture and serve no normal service. mind you I'm just back from the pub so what do I know. might be a spot you can use for external oil lines ?
if it's the restrictors between block and head, they are to keep your cam from seizing from lack of oil.

its the plug on the LH lower crancase under the alternator , so! since i cannot get it to stop from popping out.you thing i could fill the recess in the alternator cover with jb weld so it holds it in place beter? i was concerned that the plug might of bein an  oil release safety against high pressure inside the crankases. i mean why have something that does nothing?

Ever feel like you re talking to yourself? Anyway viton lasted longer till I took it on the highway then it leaked interestingly when I got back to the garage I checked the temperatures at the exhaust colars and I got 350 on 4 &3 300 on 2 and 222 on 1 I wonder if I got an oil block and is popping the plug on pressure increase
