Pop music
« on: August 19, 2011, 08:58:49 AM »
is it me,is it a generational thing, but Autotune in pop music makes my ears bleed.I listen to the local Rock stations at work and when a 'rock'band uses it I actually run and yank the cord out of the wall,I get the sh*tty pop music that uses it but any self respecting rock band who uses it should be ashamed of themselves.I friggin hate it. >:(
its better to regret something you have done, than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.

Yup I agree however I had to look up what Autotune was :). The first time I heard it I hated it right away with Cher's Believe song. I usually try to listen to music made from actual human beings. These groups that have 3 or 4 singers and a host of dancers tick me off. I always ask, where are the folks in the band or is there one??!!

real talent is fading. that's why i can't stand contemporary music

you don't have to have harmony or comprehension to be a musician nowadays. just blabber nonsense in a mike, filter it through computers, become a one hit wonder overnight, and O.D. on drugs the next day.

It doesn't sound human. Music today sucks.

On another note, I should get an autotune for my dog! That would sound cool!

I really liked it in that beer commercial.  I forget the brand, but the scene kept switching between dudes, and the common word was "party".  I'm sure someone will find it and post it.  I'd do it, but I'm jetting out in minutes.

I heard a Jamie Fox song and the whole thing was autotuned, still can't believe it. I can appreciate that music progreses and things change but man talk about a step in the wrong direction. I love music and am pretty passionate about listening to the bands I like. I am very open minded as well when it comes to new music and bands but I can only think of a handful (if that) of new bands that have come out that I like in the 2000's.
