is this for a CB750 older than 73?
you can get a new harness here but has a cheap round connector.

scroll down a bit you will see one with the round connector ( but it does not have the wires for running lights for the front signals fyi.

Its for my 72.  Wire harness is great.

The dilema is: I need to buy a new ignition switch (my EMGO switch is burning the insulation) most NOS I find have the round plug. The round plug on my wire harness is OK, but a little beaten up and I wouldnt mind a back up. I could just get the new connectors for the square plug, but most switches I find are round. Its a PITA.

I have not found the round one. Why not the on on the sw. and harness. Have you looked here maybe contact him he may have it or know where to get it.

I thought you were going to the style sw. with the flat connector. If you get the pin tool he sells they are easy to change out.

i prob have a round plug, if you have an ignition and key, you can just solder it in.    if your not going for original, you can just hard wire the ignition.

The main problem is the wiring the switch is made of.  So Im just gonna swap out the whole switch.

I may try to contact him. Might have a solution though. May stay with round and not swap to a square.

Wow just realized that its been a year and a half and Im still looking for one of these. I ended up getting a new ignition switch from a forum member, but the wire harness plastic housing is still beat up.

Any one have ideas where to find just the round plastic plug?

On the harness I bought I had to drill the female side of the center pin, the male side was just too big. (Story of my life).

The round plugs and EMGO are not a great combo to begin with, from what I read. I bought a reproduction harness for my K2, and a NOS ignition switch to match, but I didn't wan't to run a relay or take any chances with the connectors dying out after 30K or so miles. So I had Mark/Hondaman install flat ones with better capacity for me (on both harness and switch ends, as in M/F). I'd recommend going that route instead of finding a round connector. I didn't ask for mine to be returned so I don't know if Mark still has it. You can try messaging him, you can have mine if he saved it and you don't want to use flat ones.. Some pix here

Not sure if you have his book, but he details the history and poor decision making on Honda's part for these things, good read :)

Well, they are still being made somewhere because new harnesses and switches are available.
If there's any markings on the old plugs it might be a clue. (or the plugs on a new harness/switch)
Your best bet would be to search Alibaba (https://www.aliexpress.com/) for a 6-pin or 7- pin or 7-pole circular plastic connector or 6-pin DIN-style connectors.
I suspect these may be only the center parts of a larger connector, perhaps originally meant to be used with metal shell since these also resemble old XLR, CNC, and GX12 connectors which may explain why they are so hard to find.

The Yazaki 6-pin here is very similar.

Right! Theyre being made somewhere. Ventors will only sell the whole wire harness. Just found one through Facebook. Little beat up, but there.
