Hello SOHC4

I've been trolling around other forums for my 73 CB500 K2, but finding the most information on SOHC4!!

Haven't ridden in over 10 years due to a back injury, but Dr. says my spine is now in good shape.  So, because I love projects, I picked up a restoration bike (2010 daily rider/rat bike for just a few hundred $$ (clean title) and gave myself a $2500 budget) and decided to get back on the road, only know with a bike of my own.

This restoration is bigger than I expected.  Forks too far gone for rebuild (just bought 78 CB750 forks and now looking for new caliper).  Wheels were from Yamaha (at least the tires look almost brand new) with wrong sized rotor (found decent replacement Honda spoked rims/rotor/drum ).  Didn't come with carbs, picked up rebuilt set (fully synched, polished and power coated), no side covers (will most likely relocate all electrical under seat and go with pod filters), and now just found major electrical issues from previous owner with entire wiring loom replacement needed (all connectors corroded, burnt/fused wires galore and poorly spliced connections throughout..fuse, what fuse..kill switch what?..?  Real men don't need stinkin fuses or ignition switches..LOL).  This doesn't include the need to de-tetnus all the rusted hardware.

If anyone has any information on specs for each of the electrical parts (working ohms, voltage, etc), it would be greatly appreciated.  My current book is not as detailed as I hoped (but have plenty of wiring diagrams).  I will most likely start a post on my harness build and already looking at Hondaman's Transistorized ignition unit.  Lookin to do this right from the start.

Goal?  Race inspired bike with as much weight reduction as my small garage can manage.  Restoration to original condition looks to be more expensive than going the sport ride path..  Once on the road with a couple thousand miles, will start on the engine performance project.

Looking forward to working with you all!!  :)
