CR29 "carb fart"
« on: August 22, 2011, 01:52:11 am »
Just wondering why my carbs purge air out the stacks when I turn my key on? I have named this carb fart for technical clarification in the future.

It's not the carbs, it's the dyna 2000 -- which sparks once when you turn the key.  A little bit of fuel in the cylinders is all it takes to get that "chuff."
Take care,
David

My racer is farting too, and it has a Accent electronic ignition.

Cheers, Rob
Better sorry for failing then for the lack of trying.

So does my Norton, with a Tri-Spark.  Pretty sure my Boyer MkIII did as well. Must be a charastic of the circuitry.
Take care,
David

He has been posting. Dyna3's did the same thing ESPECIALLY if you ran a lot of advance!

Vashon is on my list, but it all depends on the work schedule.

As for an update, the punch list is getting shorter.  I need to glass up a rear fender, mount the rear brake reservoir and license plate, wire up the tail and brake lights, and wrap the wiring harness. Tins have finally been pinstriped and are off being clearcoated.  Seat pad needed some small mods to make it fit and will be back shortly.  In short, pretty much done.
Take care,
David
