1969 Amen Frame CB750 Chopper
« on: September 06, 2011, 09:16:55 am »
I picked this up last Thursday!  It's a 69 CB750 engine sitting in a Amen frame.  Amen oil tank, custom triple trees, extended forks, chrome engine covers...  I just couldn't resist.  It's a little rough; needing to be rewired and have some oil leaks repaired, but I can handle that.  The '78 Digger project is still moving along slowly, but now I have something else to tinker with while waiting for parts for the Digger.

I had one of those, but with a '70 engine.  Somewhere around here there's a picture of it at Daytona in March of '71 at the Rat's Hole show.  I sold the bike to a friend in Miami and about a year later he got run over by a hit and run driver while he was sitting at a stop sign.  Killed him, nothing left of the bike.

I don't think $400 is a bad price for that frame.  It is almost the same one I am using on my other project.  New rigid frames are going for $800 and up.

Not sure what you mean by that, but that engine was produced in 70.

I think what Frank's saying is that it's a K0 diecast engine, but it was built in around March 1970. My 1019XXX K0 engine was built in December 1969, and my K0 that I recently sold (102XXXX) was built in January 1970. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
