Oh man, nicely done. Noisy bugger indeed, but just what we'd expect.  8)

Beautiful Bike.

DEWD!! Excellent  :)

Guys, that's not 'noise'! That's music  ;D ;)

Looking forward to some break in miles etc report on how it runs.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Hi Rob
The fuel tap is a replica of the original. If you are looking for one I'll check with Paul McGhie next weekend to see if he has any more.

While we are on the subject of fuel taps, has anyone out there got a spare fuel tap for a 1972 CB350F (four) ?

Thanks Eric, it would be for a close friend of mine who has a replica very similar to yours.

Hey guys,

Yes good to be still around. Was not able to be here on the forum but hope to make up for that now. My physical state is still not that great but is getting better by the day. Very slowly am able to do some light work on the bikes with a lot of help from both my sons.

Glad to be talking to you guys again.

Cheers Rob

Brilliant job as expected Eric, thanks again for your advice when I started my build (I class mine as a lookalike though, not a replica as yours).

The latest addition to the build - a fuel tap made from magnesium. If anybody else would like one please contact Paul McGhie. His contact details should be found in this thread, if you can't find them please PM me.
I warn you now they are not cheap.

It's so funny. I'd show that fuel tap to my wife and she would be like "it's a boring hunk of metal" but I see it as functional art and know what goes into making something like that. Well done on a trick little part for your project.

Congratulations on a great build Eric  8).
I'm no expert , but this must be as close to the "real deal" as it's possible to get now .
Regards Greg "H".

Thanks Greg for the kind words. I'd like to think you're right in that the bike I've created is as close to the real item as you can possibly get. That was always the aim and why it's taken so long to achieve. Just don't ask what it cost!!

It's still not quite finished, but it starts and runs just fine now after a few minor troubles, like the oil pump not scavenging and the ATU I left on just for the timing marks trying to escape through the points cover. Fixed with a new 6mm lock nut, but I took the engine out the frame, no easy task, to find out what was making all the horrible noise only to discover I needn't have bothered. Now speaking of noise, I hope the following link to a YouTube video of the bike being started works. Turn up the sound and enjoy. I did !

Fire-breathing beastie! It sounds like the genuine CR that Yoshi (Garage Company) had and ran around Willow Springs Raceway.  They sound unreal at full rev.

and now at long last after several years we have the magnesium fork cases finally machined. Still some work to do to clean them up. Do I paint them or polish and lacquer them? Decisions, decisions.
