and now at long last after several years we have the magnesium fork cases finally machined. Still some work to do to clean them up. Do I paint them or polish and lacquer them? Decisions, decisions.

Cheers
Eric

Those are very nice. Is someone making these for resale? Any more available?

Excellent work. I'm not sure how Mg legs wear compared to Al. I had Racetech hard anodize a set of legs inside & out this winter. It's a matte finish outside but should reduce wear.

Paul McGhie has the patterns for the castings and he would most probably get the castings done for you. After that you're on your own, which is the reason it has taken me so long to get the machining done. There are not many machine shops that are willing take on a magnesium job because of the fire risk. A one off job doesn't help either. However, Graham Sykes of Graham Sykes Performance Engineering was my man, a keen quarter mile enthusiast and brilliant engineer, but he works alone, hence the time its taken.

No further info but I'm guessing the organisers will have the results up tonight or tomorrow unless Eric chips in himself.

Yes folks it lives and no oil leaks! Gearbox behaving itself apart from neutral being difficult to find with the engine running
Just bedding things in, so taking it easy, but 13.21 wasn't bad at all (within 0.08 of a class win). Best terminal was 107, but there is obviously much more to come. I managed 13 runs over the weekend even with all the people taking an interest in the bike, which is very nice. Always glad to talk.

There's not much choice given all the noise restrictions these days, but the throttle has many positions. I'm just taking it easy and having fun. I care not if someone gets to the the end of the quarter before me because at a sprint meeting I can have have as many runs as I like.

Nice bike ! I was just surprised with all your racetracks it was taken to a sprint. Short burst of accelaration are actually not bad for running in an engine, but a sprint might be a bit too short for my personal taste on a first outing, but if you don't have alternatives it'll do.

For starters, it wasn't the first time the motor had been run and he used the Sprint for two reasons.
(1) It was right on his door step, just a few miles to get there.
(2) There are only 2 tracks that he can run the bike on open pipes in the UK and these are quite a few miles distance.
The track near to Eric's home had special permission for this one special event a year to run un-silenced, so he took the
     opportunity to use it.

Just found the thread.  Amazing attention to detail and that sound!!!  I'd like to paint my vintage Kraft Eleck Rider R/C bike to match.  What can you tell me about the colour?
