I will be there.  Coils and ignition are firing away nicely so the bike will be there as well!

I should be off by 2pm which should put me there around 3-3:30 at the latest.

Hey Everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,

It is now June the 8th and we have only eight more days to go til the Meet and Greet. I don't know about you but I'm getting really jazzed waiting for this meet. I can't wait to meet all of you.

Please, if you haven't by now, respond to let me know you are planning to attend. I only have a couple more days to confirm things with Pyramid so I need to know as soon as possible.

Other than that, have a great week and I'll see you in Berkeley!

Peace,

Jeff

I really want to go to the meet, but I usually work on Friday nights.  I'll try to arrange a "split shift", working early friday afternoon, and returning friday night. That will give me a couple hours to attend the meet, the only problem being, No Drinking! Does Pyramid Ale have any non-alcoholic beer?    Count me in for one, I'll try to make it!      Ron

Mr.Breeze, you read my mind. I was out of town and not much online the last few days. I was picking up some Mead to bring with as I promised in another thread.

Anyhoo, this is who I have confirmed as of 7:00 A.M. Sunday, June 11, 2006:

Glenn
LLoyd (TwoTired)
Lee
Adam and Guest
Sean (Scondon)
MrBreeze
Canyon750
Joeb
RCS1956 (Ron)
Jeff (Dusthawk)

Well, I am pretty good with math and I count eleven. I am not counting those who have said they will try to make it.

Does anyone have anyone to add to this list? Or does anyone wish to rescind their confirmation?

The way things are looking, I will have Patches and Pins for everyone who is able to make it. If by some chance we get more than 25  shows I'll get Patches and Pins to them later.

I realise that not everyone can have as much enthusiasm as I do but I sincerely hope for a greater showing of the local contingent of SOHC4 members.

As a recap, the Meet will be held on Friday, June 16th, starting around 3:00 P.M. at the Pyramid Alehouse in Berkeley. Anyone who needs directions, please let me know and I'll PM them to you.

Any other comments or questions are welcome as always.

See you all soon,

Jeff

Well I hate to say this but...  I tried to get a West Coast Ride going a few years ago and only one other person showed up.  West Coast riders are a little flaky from what I have seen.   :-[  I'm hoping the appearance of the Great Glenn Stauffer will shake the laziness out of our group and give us a great turnout.  I plan on being there even if I have to walk!  (Yes I am trying to give people a guilt trip into coming... :-* )

I'm not sure I'll live up the 'Great' billing, but I am looking forward to meeting everyone and I'll do my best to be entertaining.  As an extra incentive to the "maybe's" who are following this thread, I'll bring the infamous, long-lost SOHC/4 Ride Book.  The book got its start with the New England Ride in August 1997, then made the rounds to the first Western European Ride, and the First Midwest Ride, and the Honda Hoot gathering in June 1998.  After that, it got put in a box when I moved and was only recently found.

Greetings and Salutations on this Beautiful Evening!

Well, everyone, it is now late on the 15th and it's just under two days til the meet and I can barely sleep. I had the terrific honour to meet The Great Glenn Stauffer and don't let him tell ya different. He is quite the Great guy. We had lunch on Tuesday here in Marin and he isn't the mythical figure some may think he is. Although he is still a Great guy in his own right, he doesn't stand 10 feet tall, nor does he have a glowing nimbus to denote his Heavenly Demeanor, although I may have heard a harp or two whilst chatting with him. Can't be sure, we were outside at the time ;D

Anyway, I look forward to seeing him again, as well as the rest of you on Friday.

MrBreeze, I was planning on getting there betwen 2:30 and 3:00, but I am sure some of us will stay until 9:00 or so. Yuo will have plenty of company during the time you will be able to stay.

Between Glenn, Myself, and anyone else, I want to see about setting up a page in the gallery for pics from the meet. I'll discuss it more with all of you on Friday.

Other than that, Have a Great day and I'll see everyone soon.

I'll check in tomorrow and Friday morning but unless there is something of vital importance to relay, I will probably not post here again until after the meet. Feel free to post your own feelings and thoughts as to what kind of time you had at the meet as I will a day or two afterwards.

Peace and Long Rides,

Jeff

Well, here it is, 11:30 at night, After the Meet and Greet. WOW, what a great time I had tonight. I wanted to get things down before my addled mind decided to forget anything.

I got there at the Pyramid Alehouse at 2:00 p.m. and what do you know, Glenn just had to one up me by getting there first ;D . well, we sat and talked and eventually we heard a bike pull in and before you knew it we had twelve of us sitting around sharing stories, and laughing and in general having a wonderful time. Most of us were able to ride in except Glenn and I and we all ogled and commented and admired everyone Else's bikes. Anecdotes flowed as freely as the laughter. I feel honoured to have met several of the people from this forum, not least of them Glenn, Lloyd (TwoTired), and Fred (MrBreeze). The rest of them, Lee, Adam, Rhonda, Joeb, Sean (Scondon), Wayne (Canyon750), Ron (RCS1956), and Jeff (another one) Made for a very memorable occasion I hope will be repeated in the near future.

I am usually not too good at interacting in person with more than a few people at a time but the time I have spent on this forum has helped me to feel like part of a worldwide family of people and I must say, it is liberating to feel useful to such a family, even if only this areas portion of it. I could not have asked for a better day to have had as I spent today with these eleven other people. The camaraderie I felt today I haven't felt since my baseball team won first place in Little League some 27 years ago. Yes, I lead a sheltered life ;D ;D .

I hope that everyone on this forum can feel the same kind of feelings and experience the kind of day that I did. I will carry the joy from today for a long time to come, and will look upon everyone I met today as close personal friends. I have had an epiphany as well, every one of you is not just a name I see on a screen anymore, each name is a person and each person brings something special to this forum that makes me revel in being a part of something so great. Here is to every single one of you out there, a part of something that amazingly equals far more than the sum of its parts.

I am sure others will post their thoughts as well, and I hope they had much the same feeling of friendship as I experienced tonight.

For now, Peace and Long Rides,

Jeff

Jeff,

Thanks for putting this together - getting 12 people together is no mean feat.

I enjoyed myself immensely and it was great seeing people who have such enthusiasm for these bikes.  And great to finally put faces to names.  I look forward to my next visit and plan on having the time to get some riding in with you all.

Glenn

I almost forgot, don't forget to get your pics in the gallery. If you think about it, feel free to put in a blurb about what king of time you had, let everyone else see what they missed ;D ;D

What did I tell you about the lens cap? ;D ;D

Glad to hear you kept it alive till 11:30...you probably would have to have taxied me outa there by then!!!!Talk to yas later....

I should have been more specific I guess ::) , I didn't stay til 11:30, I left around eightish when everyone else was ditching so I figured to not wear out any welcome with Pyramid. I got back to marin around quarter til 11:00 and finally to Denny's around quarter after. That post was written before I could forget everything and Lord knows how absentminded I can be. I took away with me a great feeling of community that I hope will live on and grow with future meets. If I have to I'll start thinking about a meet towards the end of summer but if someone else wants to step up to the plate and start something, hint hint. ;D

Don't get me wrong, I had a great time getting this going and would gladly get another going if the great masses so decree. I want to do a run as well but until Rita is rolling again that is on the back burner.

good Job I may be  new here and all that but I think you an ass

I think you probably had it right the first time ;D ;D

Huntman, there are more important things in life than meeting up with a bunch of bikers, not least of all making sure you are healthy and hale. I would have felt horrible to know you made the trip not feeling 100% and if you had problems later I couldn't have lived with the guilt. Get yourself all fixed up, there will be meets in the future that you will be able to make because you are feeling up to it. None of us there felt you were trying to flake, we understood, so no need to recriminate yourself.

Peace and Long Rides,

Jeff
