74 CB550 Need US source for cam chain soft link
« on: August 26, 2011, 03:59:30 PM »
I read all the cam chain posts and couldn't find a source for the CB400 or 500 twin soft link in the US.  What are the years on the two bikes that have OEM soft links?  Is there a source in the US?

only source I have seen is david silver spares, definitely not a US source, but a source if all else fails.

You made me think about it after I cheered knowing someone else would like to know what these control freaks are up to.
Every time any owner strips whatever precious Honda part the horrified purists parts go up in value. That's not the part that bothers them.
What bothers them is they sat up late at night, their breast full of wonder and estrogen, unable to sleep, dreaming about their lovely darling and all her glory... and next thing you know someone else doesn't share their emotional deluge and their reaction is they must spread their mind museum as far as they possibly can, taking over as much of the real world as possible.

Go to bikebandit.com Pick the year and size, then OEM.

Now go through the schematics looking for the part you want.

The 1974 450K7 shows the chain and the softlink.

$101 for the combo.

Caveat: I don't know 100% that will fit, but that was one of the ones I remember being listed as working. Maybe someone else can confirm.

You can always get the part from your local Honda dealer too.

Someone is selling the clip type ones on eBay.  $20 for two of them...
