Anyone need any 76 parts?
« on: August 25, 2011, 07:36:02 AM »
Got a hondamatic yesterday for a small song, it's partially in boxes, but it's a 76, and I have literally every part. The only thing rusted out is the muffler (the 4-1 muffler, the header is in very good shape). Figured I'd post here instead of the classifieds, as it'll get swamped amidst the non-hondamatic related stuff =P.  I can take pictures of anything, and would be happy to ship anywhere.

Cheers!

Sam: If this was not okay, I'd very much understand if I found this moved to the parts section!

Sent a message to ya, Fran.

Chuck:
The grab bar on a 76 is a black plastic thing, unless I'm very mistaken. It goes on the seat and loops around behind the seat:

I do have the black plastic one from this 76.

Cheers!

That cover is a little bent up on mine as well, PO dropped the bike, bending that cover, the pts cover and the tank. At the same time, I'm also looking to keep the engine, or part with it as one large unit =P

These adapters from http://www.partsnmore.com should work, and were the ones we discussed by phone!

If you're looking for OEM, this is from my local honda store. Was kicking around and asked them if they can look it up for me today  ;D

16950-405-831      1978    CB550K

16950-405-831       1978   CB750A
16950-405-831      1978   CB750K
16950-410-015       1978   CB750F

16950-393-015      1977   CB750A
16950-410-015      1977   CB750K
16950-410-015       1977   CB750F

16950-393-015      1976   CB750A
16950-341-671      1976   CB750K
16950-341-671      1976   CB750F

Those are the part numbers for full petcock assemblies....so basically look for a 78K or 78K (CB550) petcock as they'll be the same as well.

Hi!
I'm a bit late to this post, but my '76 gives me a heap of electrical problems. Would love a chance at switches, regulator, recitifier etc.

Thanks!

What kind of shape are the carburetor manifolds in?  I need the set that go between the cylinders and the carburetors.

Been away from the forums a bit for my undergraduate finals, so I only got to this now, sorry chaps!

Fran: Check your email. I'd suggest restoring over using questionably old used manifolds. I have the ones you need, but they're not in amazing shape, like most honda manifolds of this age. Try searching for the wintergreen trick on here, and combine that with some RTV to seal the leaks!

Sean: The rear rim would be 17" for these models. The auto came with the same rim as the later K's and the GL-1000, and was a 17" DID alloy. For larger items like that, I'd check your local scrapyard for a GL, as the rim will come very cheap.
