I notice in the picture there is a walking cane. Could this be why there
is no frame with this motor? Hmmmm

Seems to me, if you already have a good 750 engine, for a lot less than US$600+ you could chrome out the small handfull of peices needed to make yours look like this (if you really wanted to).

A lot of it is bolt on aftermarket stuff - the finned covers, the cylinder/head 'covers'.  Looks like they are covering up a very average engine.  For this much you'd likely be able to pick up an entire CB750 somewhere let alone just the engine.

I always seem to end up disagreeing with you guys about this stuff, so "surprise": I think it's ugly.  ;D

I hate chrome, and I don't much care for highly polished aluminum. I also hate adding stuff to a bike rather than removing it. Those silly chromed fireplace grates bolted to the sides of the motor give me the dry heaves.

Maybe you guys should sell your SOHCs and buy a Harley and a Custom Chrome catalog to go with it. Then you can bolt on chrome #$%* until you can't even get the bike off the sidestand.  :D

Got to agree with Noel on the chrome, you would spend more time polishing the riding.  As for removing a lot of stuff from my bike, my poor back couldn't handle a cafe machine ;D

The carbs look kinda green, and the collars and threads around the exhaust port look dirty and rusty. If you look closely you'll see other areas that look like they weren't cleaned very well. I think he just bolted on as many chrome pieces as possible to an old engine and threw it up on ebay. I've seen much nicer engines here in the gallery.

Of course, "This is much nicer thaan pics show!!! ".  Somebody paid over a grand for that! For that much money I want a documented rebuild with top of the line internal.

I thought it looked good but, the appearance could have been camouflage to distract
from imperfections or what ever. No way would I have given $600 much less give more. I like
the look of the polished engines, they are attractive, but that doesn't mean that I'll have the
energy to accomplish this on mine. I also like a satin black look with the edges of the cylinder
fins polished and other occasional edges to set it off. Later on, Bill

I'm sorry what did you say, I could not hear you - it was a bit muffled. You might be cutting off your airflow with your head stuck in there, and thats a crappy spot.  ;) You might want to take a breath now.

I dont think the motor was worth the money it sold for either. But nonetheless it was a nice looking combination.

Noel, maybe I should go and buy a new Harley, at least I will get support from the dealer unlike the dealerships in this thread.

I really dont have anything against Harley riders or the brand. I just remember nice people ride bikes of ALL brands, and a holes ride bikes of all brands.

I am an a hole sometimes and I ride a Honda, so go figure. The disease of being an a hole knows no brand or gender.

I think THEY started it with all the "jap crap" "riceburner" "moped" comments.

I've met some nice ones, but I've met others that are, (to sanitize it for the board), not so nice.

For those interested in all this bling. You can have all of these parts done for a fraction of the cost of this final auction. I figure the final product would cost about $350-$400 at worst. It could be cheaper. after all who really gives a crap if you chrome your tappet covers and the timing chain cover in the middle of the valve cover. Fact is no one will see it.

I will stick to the running k5 750 motor with carbs, i just bought on evil-bay for 200.00 bucks.I will spend the time and clean and paint the motor myself and chrome the pieces i want and pocket the excess bills left over. Instead of paying a grand.  8) 8) 8)

hey!  before you guys go "naysaying" the polished look of that motor... please realize that for the price of 1-3 days that you spend on this forum you could polish your motor to the spec of the motor in discussion.

maybe you wouldn't spend the money to buy the motor "pre-polished"... but, in a year and a half... i've spent 11 days, 2 hours and 50 minutes... "polishing".

damn!  what would my 350 and 400 look like if i didn't spend so much time on here?

Considering how much time and effort I've put into polishing, ElCheapo... bite me.  ;D

I just prefer to end up with a matte finish rather than a high polish, blingbling,gold-fillings-in-the-teeth-Mercedes-hood-ornament-around-the-neck inner city drag bike look.

You may be different.  :D

Well sure. And they can do it with a 2006 service manual too, because the bikes haven't changed since the forties. ;D

PS. I'm just "taking the piss, mate" as Terry likes to say. I like Harleys just fine, and I like you too, Cheapo. I'm sure we can agree to disagree about that ugly-assed motor that only a blind African-American homosexual could like.

Right?  ;D

<<DISAGREES WITH EVERYONE. ALWAYS AND SIMPLY DONT F'IN CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLES OPINONS ARE.

Anyone who has met me in person knows this, as I always make a lasting impression.

Dont give a #$%* what anyone thinks. I like the chrome and that is that. I dont care if anyone else does not. I like the bling I have on my bike, that is why it is my bike.

Remember I am the guy at a rally ride that would stop in the ride, go back get the car with the trailer, come back get your bike, trailer you back help you fix your bike, and then get back on mine and ride out with you. And that is if I did not know you.
