CB350F - How do you get the left crankcase cover off?
« on: August 26, 2011, 07:17:05 PM »
I am trying to install a chain, but I cannot figure out how to remove the left side crank case cover, you know, the countershaft sprocket cover.

I have removed the four soft, nearly stripped screws, and the shifter.  The cover wiggles, but it won't come off.  It feels like it is stuck where the starter is, at the forward, uppermost screw hole.

I have looked at the diagrams, and it seems like there are just these 4 screws and the shifter to remove.  I've been hitting it with a deadblow, but I dont want to break anything

Am I missing something?  Is there a fifth fastener that I dont see?

No fifth fastener, just a dowel that can be sticky at times.  I get it off by pulling as best I can on the top of the cover with my finger tips/nails and then working the bottom of the cover in and out.  The whole assembly slowly slides out.  No need for a deadblow.
