Air screw o-rings for PD carbs + aftermarket float needles
« on: August 27, 2011, 04:32:49 PM »
Anyone know if you can get these separate from the kits? All four of mine were squashed.. one was totally trashed. '77 750F carbs.

Also, I'd ordered a couple of new aftermarket float needles because my #2 carb kept overflowing a while back. I replaced it about a month ago. Then, today, when I pulled the carbs apart, the rubber tip of that needle had fallen off and was still up in the float seat. Is this common? And can you get OEM without buying the whole set?

Hey Tug.....

I have some O-rings that are 2.6mm ID x 1.2mm cross-section.  Do you know what size the air screw rings are?

I've been searching but I can't find the measurements. They're REALLY small.. that's all I know. :)

Tug, per the Sirius site, the ones I have should work for ya, if your interested in spending a couple of bucks for four rings versus $25 or so for a lifetime supply.

Shoot me an e-mail at kthunter01@sbcglobal.net

If you want to PM your address I will put a few in an envelope. No charge :) I have never had a tip come off but have a spare to throw in. Mine is a 78 but the parts are the same.

Do the PD series carbs on the 550's have these O-rings, too?

I've yet to pull my carbs, but I'm wondering if there was an air leak there, couldn't it cause some high idle and hanging idle problems?
