What the hell happened to that bike? Ron Gould sold it for pennies on the pound. Mike was killed in 1981. Also....did the prick that killed him and 1 of his kids do any time??????

That bike has been 'missing' for years, both party's have been to court and all. Jan Keessen is accused of having the bike 'hidden' somewhere, a lot of stories about it. About Mike: The lorriedriver got fined with 100 pounds!! for making a  illegal U- turn causing the death of Mike and his 9 year old daughter.

I'm sorry this is unrelated but it has been on my mind since the races last weekend at Mosport. I worked my ass off to circulate at 1:45, two seconds off the fastest laptime for the class.

In the Canadian GP of 1967 Hailwood set a time of 1:36 on the "six" that stood for years. It's just bloody amazing.

Each life worth 50 pounds. >:( Really makes you wonder. I had read stories about the bike being dismantled and parts were all over the place. I was just reading an old article from 1992 about it and wondered if the bike or parts ever surfaced.

I don't know. Nobby Clark went to a USA prison for stealing parts and shipping them to S Africa while working for Obsolete.. That is my recollection.

Let's not forget there was more than one bike, Mike's and Ralph Bryans, the earlier ones from Jim Redman and of course the 250 and 297 versions. Think no one can tell after all these years which is what and which did actually survive. Know that back in 1980 when Mike rode a 250 during a break at the TT of Assen, it was a genuine bike, heard Mike telling that to a journalist while I was lying on my knees behind the bike. Must caused my hearing problem btw. when it was started.

Here is Mike's grave.
That is sad to see. There is a gravestone very close to my father in law's that bears the name of a women and her two children that died in a fire. I get a bit choked up everytime I see it
