Puch. Worth anything?
« on: September 02, 2011, 10:44:42 AM »
I was trolling the local U-Pull it yard and came across this.  Anyone know anything about them?

Very popular in and around Huntington Beach in the early 80's.  They would put lower bars on them, bore them out, larger carb, different pipe and more.  I think they would get up to about a scary 70mph+.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

ive got 2 puch MKII's. 78 and 79. wiring on these bikes are always a problem but easy to fix with a diagram. fun bikes very easy to get parts for. put a 70cc kit and bigger jet in the carb and new exhaust and you could possibly do 70+ i had a friend with one that was clocked at 73......lots of problems since we were 13 and had no liscense or anything but fun bikes!

As far as stockers, my sachs/foxy used to make a couple more MPH than the Puch's. Not as stylish as the puch, the down tube fuel tank just wasn't as cool looking as the top tube MC looking tank, but I always caught and passed any other puch I saw.
