Company product decals
« on: October 22, 2011, 01:09:20 PM »
When I went to put some decals onto my finished motorcycle I wanted to select the companies that had helped me the most on my project.

One of the problems was that one company that had parts that no one else supplied
Had included a vinyl graphic with company logo but it was huge. It was 7 inches by 2-1/2 inches. Also they only gave me ONE decal. So I could not put one on each side of the bike to have a balanced look. Unless I could find another company that had one the same size for the other side of the gas tank.

Some of the best most helpful parts companies did not send me a decal or vinyl graphic at all.

One company sent me a die cut with a white background that looked bad with the paint color I had.

The best vinyl transfer were the ones that were small with no background. (VINYL GRAPHIC).

VINYL GRAPHICS are much better than a die cut decal that sticks up from the surface and looks like a refrigerator magnet. Know what I mean? It does not look professional.I would not put it on my motorcycle.

So to sum up... the best deal if you want us to "sponsor" you and your company by putting your company logo on our CB750 cafe racer is to give us a clear vinyl graphic that has no background and is smaller than say 6 inches and give us two, one for each side of the motorcycle.

Help us help your company. Thanks.

No offense, but boy, I couldn't imagine sticking some company's decal on my finished bike, but to each his own.

Decnals are not my bag baby
" Why does anyone get offended by what someone does to their own bike? I dont get it. "

You made me think about it after I cheered knowing someone else would like to know what these control freaks are up to.
Every time any owner strips whatever precious Honda part the horrified purists parts go up in value. That's not the part that bothers them.
What bothers them is they sat up late at night, their breast full of wonder and estrogen, unable to sleep, dreaming about their lovely darling and all her glory... and next thing you know someone else doesn't share their emotional deluge and their reaction is they must spread their mind museum as far as they possibly can, taking over as much of the real world as possible.

I'd put a SOHC/4 forum decal on my bike if one was offered.

The only decals I have on mine are the period-correct Yoshimura racing parts decals from the 1972 installation of the Yoshimura cam & pistons and the Yoshimura double disc brake kit.  They've been on the bike since 1972.

This photo was taken early in the clean-up process, but it's the best one I have of the decal.

I put my Dyna ignition sticker under the seat...but I wouldn't put one on the outside either...well...maybe if it was really a street racer or rally/endurance type bike....stickers are what you use to go faster if you don't want to paint your bike red.

Green, green makes the bike go 2% faster according to the Ministry of Silly Walks.
