Less than a week away, fellas. I will be camping off-site at a buddies property in Moody, AL.

Looking forward to meeting some of y'all and seeing all of the beautiful bikes.

I plan on arriving late tonight or early tomorrow morning.  I haven't been able to get hold of anyone at the track to find out if the gates are locked after closing.  I may be in my tent in the parking lot or something!  I'll plan on meeting at 6:00PM tomorrow as well.

Hope you guys have fun. Track down Richard Backus of Motorcycle Classics and tell him Godzilla said hello  ;) Spoke with him briefly yesterday and he told me he is there also.

Well I got in late last night in one piece.   I forgot some means to lift the bike for chain adjustment, but other than that, things went fine in 700 miles.   Heading over to Sears to pick up some wrenches to adjust my clutch, it's rattling pretty good!
Oh, I also saw this a couple parking spaces over...

Some good details on this one.

I wonder if this person is a member here?  He's obviously seen FrankenBike's work.

Rear rotor says "KUMA".   Neva hoid of it.

I got home early this morning about 2 AM after an all day "joyride" on the 550.   If I plan to go on any trips in the future longer than 50 miles on this thing, I need to get this seat redone.   It just about sucked any joy I had out of the ride after a while.  That and worrying about the front tire that the idiot mechanic balanced wrong (dot not on the valve stem).  I guess rides like these are good because if you're going to have any problems, it's on a long trek.
My steering bearings are starting to clunk, my chain is stretched to the 5th mark back, my tach and left turn signal aren't working, and my oil pan still leaks around the gasket. Overall not too shabby.   Compared to Bluezboy's 750 I can't complain.
Sorry I missed everyone, I really wanted to show off the 550 but my timing was horrible.  I vow to have the seat redone for next year!

I met a few SOHC4 friends just before the parade lap on Sunday. My two bikes won at the Cafe Racer show. Best Japanese cafe racer for my CB450 and Cafe Racer TV choice for my CB550. Wish I would have seen more SOHC4 members. It was a great time though.

Sorry I didn't get to meet everyone.  I rode over with Bluezboy and helped him limp along to the track.  I only had one day to spend at Barber, and by the time we got there, it was just not worth it to pay the admission for the amount of time I had to spend.  I did however ride on to my next stop, and had a great time visiting with an old Air Force friend and riding buddy who I hadn't seen in almost 40 years.  I love looking at old motorcycles, but people are more important than things, and there's always next year.  Hope to meet you all then.

Note to RedRider, do not ride with Vern if you want to get to your destination on time, bad Mojo workin' against him!
