77 CB750A bobber project.  How do you guys get the rims shining if they have minor pits and discoloration?  Thanks!

Why does that make you mad, Sam? I like the fact that my wheels don't corrode.

as said the rims are anodized and will never be anything other than grey but if you insist on polishing them I use 2000 grit paper first get them shiny and then mothers or autosol and a buffing wheel but it will look like a mess if you try to do it with all the spokes in place so you have to unlace the rim and then do it but you better use a sealer over it because they will oxidize within a day of making it shiny unless you want to polish it every day

King I think I have bought every Alum. cleaner/polish that has ever been made since 1966. This guy at a mom&pop bike shop where I get mine inspected gave me a used bottle of this and it is the easiest and quickest I have tried to date give it a try They sell it at wall mart autozone and other places. You know anodized goes into the metal I don't know how any thing would work on that.

Here's one of many options. Just be careful with any stripping chemicals, and don't take a nap after you start the process or you won't like your rims anymore.

And do a Web search. Info on safely stripping anodizing from aluminum is all over the place! You'll need to get them fully stripped before you can successfully polish them.  :D  RR
