Hi guys
Well, since ive done my top end (rings, hone, valve guides and cam chain tensioners) i have done about 7000 km.
I have changes the oil as follows
500km (new oil filter)
1500km (new oil filter)
3500km
7000km (new oil filter)
The last change i noticed about coins(1.5cm) worth of metal slivers in the filter housing.
They are magnetic, and about a pin head in size. The engine sounds fantastic however.
On Sunday i took it for a hard ride of about 200km.
During this ride, when hot, occasionally i would pull the clutch in, the revs would drop to 4000 rpm, whereupon i would have to blip the throttle and they would drop to
1200rpm, for changing gear.
Yesterday i changed the plugs/ valve gaps/ cam chain tension and timing.
Then i noticed(I had not really listened closely until then without a helmet on) the clutch was making a whirring sound when pulled in. (it makes the usual rattle when released).
This is new. Could it in any way account for the metal filings?
The whirring sound does possibly sound like subtle scraping, but i am not very familiar with clutches so any help will be appreciated.
Thanks again
Thor
