Will a cb350F Kickstart Lever Work for a CB400f?
« on: August 31, 2011, 04:39:46 PM »
It's definitely not the same part number, but these bikes do have a lot of similarities. My 400f kicker is FUBAR -- busted knuckle -- and I'm not having much luck finding a replacement. I have the line on a 350F kicker for cheap but I'm not sure whether the spline is the same size or if it'll bump into anything. I mostly use electric, but would like to have a kicker on there. Has anybody ever put a 350F lever on a 400f? Any known troubles?

Or alternatively if you have a 400f kicker to sell me, send over a PM please.

I put one on mine.  Splines lined up okay; no clearance issues.

cheers,

Leigh

Thanks Jesse. I appreciate it.

ANYONE ELSE GOT A 400F KICKER YOU COULD SELL ME? If not I'm going to make the deal for the 350F kicker tonight and cross my fingers.

So I put the 350F kicker on the '75 400f and it works great......IF you raise the footpeg before you kick. Otherwise it doesn't have enough motion to start the bike before it crashes into the peg.

Bear in mind that I've had this 400f for about six or seven years and never had a kickstarter - I've never seen a bone stock setup. So my question -- is this how all of these bikes are? Do you always need to lift the peg before you kick? It's not such a big deal to do, but I wasn't aware that they'd come like that from the factory.

Then I guess I know why my right peg never had a spring. Thanks.
