Interesting post. I looked at 5 bands for 9-74 and all 5 had albums in earlier 74' and their next releases weren't until 1975.
1. Jan 74'.........Astronomy Domine - Pink Floyd - A nice Pair album
2. Feb 74'........Burn - Deep Purple - Burn album
3. Mar 74'........Train Kept A Rollin' - Aerosmith - Get Your Wings album
4. Apr 74'........Career Of Evil - Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties album
5. Jun 74'........Bad Company - Bad Company - Bad Co. album

Now I'm on a mission to find something from Sept. 74'...........I needed the exercise anyway!! ;D

For the K5 according to billboard the top songs of November 1974 were:

November 3 – 9 1974 Bachman Turner Overdrive - You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet
November 10 – 16 1974 John Lennon - Whatever Gets You Thru The Night
November 17 – 30 1974 Billy Swan - I Can Help
My K3 has a replacement frame so I can't know the month it was built.  :(
So you can take your pick: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Hot_100_number-one_singles_of_1973_%28U.S.%29

Hmmm. '76? That would have been the end of fifth grade and the beginning of sixth for me. I may have not been able to reach the ground while sitting on one at that time... ;D ;D

Nothing I care to listen to.....  Awesome of you, MrBreeze, for claiming a Pink Floyd track.  Astronomy Domine is one of my favourites!  I was still swimming around in one of my Dad's testicles back in June of '75.

I would have chosen The Sex Pistols "Never Mind The Bollocks" album :_)
