Oil Lines to Oil Tank
« on: September 01, 2011, 07:08:54 AM »
Are the parts numbered 17 and 23 washers or gaskets and where do they go?

I'm thinking that both lines should have some sort of o-ring or something at the tank connection area.

Am I correct? I do have an oil leak at one of the lines, but it looks as if it is coming from under the mesh sheaving.

Appreciate the help.

Thanks.

I think they are metal crush washers. 23 may be for the drain bolt ?

Thanks ekpent,

There are three parts that look like they may be washers.  17, 23 and 22 which looks like it goes to the drain plug.

What do you think?

Yep, Eric's on the money, they're crush washers. 22 and 23 are for the oil lines, and 17 is for the drain plug. Cheers, Terry.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I've read here.. Never seen it myself.... That the lines themselves can "Weep"... May be the hoses....

Just a stab....
Now back to our regular programming....

+1 crush washers You can get them at most any auto parts place They don't need to be metric take a old one with you to size them up Lawn mower shops have them also. I get them there when I change my oil.

It could be the lines weeping. I woud try the washers first.

Is it a nice drip on the right side of your swing arm that splatters your rim and tire?
If so I just noticed a similar leak on my new old bike. Did some research and have to take a closer look today but it appears that it may be the trans breather hose is cracked-
