Getting My CB350F On The Road
« on: September 01, 2011, 05:09:25 PM »
Hello, my goal for my CB 350F is too have a bike for zipping around town. I have read through every piece of info on this forum and others about getting the bike running. I have  bench synched the carbs and followed the shop manual instructions on a tune up/check.

My current issue is, the bike will crank (after a few dozen kicks) and will stay running only if I give it alot of throttle. Even then it will die within 10-15 seconds and before it dies completely there is a lound hiss coming from the carbs. The bike was not running great when I got it but much better than this.
I appreciate any help. Thanks

Is the battery holding a charge?

Will, do. I removed the bowls and cleaned out alot of rusty stuff before putting them back on the bike a few weeks ago. I think it may be an issue of not getting enough gas. I'm really not seening much gas flowing through the filter from the tank.  (I'm far from knowledgeable about this). The battery is on the charger now and I'll play around a little more when I get home.

If you cleaned a lot of rusty stuff out of the bowls that means it in your entire fuel system. If it was me I would pull the carbs off for complete disassembly and cleaning. Your symptom sounds like clogged slow jets/passages. I would also clean out the petcock and fuel tank.

I cleaned out the tank with vinegar and salt. Took about a week but it was amazing how well it worked. I guess I'll be pulling the carbs and cleaning them. Is there anything chemical I can run through the carbs to flush them out? Thanks
