I have a CB360 tank that needs cleaning as well. I read through this post and tried carb cleaner. Didn't do much which tells me I have surface rust. Anyone else tried Esprit yet?

Haven't tried Esprit but I have used wood bleach (oxalic acid) on one of mine and it worked well.

Just ordered Esprit for my 74 cb550.  I'll post some before and after pics once I get it done.

Thanks.

I did mine with reverse electrysis, used Oxyclean instead of baking soda, with a battery charger on 2amp.  was very successful, did take 3 days, and I recommend you either spray with wd40 or move on to sealing the gas tank right after you clean the solution out, as the tank will start to flash rust.  My cost was about $4, plus the por 15 kit

My results from a 24 hour soak with Evaporust. I used one gallon on a CB360 tank.

Baking soda? Where did that come from? I used Arm and Hammer "super washing soda" which isn't baking soda and it worked like a charm when I did the electrolysis on my gas tank.

Good old chemtool carb dip will clean a tank, but also eat paint and rubber so you have to be careful. I had an MG TD with the worst varnish muck in the bottom. I put 5 gallons of carb cleaner in there and rotated the tank to a different side for 6 days. Nasty stuff came out but that tank was CLEAN on the inside.

I have a CT90 tank that's pretty bad, think I'll get some of this esprit and try it. Fortunately varnish free, just chunks of rust. Will give it the nuts and shake first though :)
