Jawa motorcycles I knew about, but Jawa CARS? I had NEVER heard of this one. I knew of the Skoda though.

Anyone else know about these? And if so, I'd like to know more, if you could post it. Thanks.

Hi Bill, no I didn't realise they had built a car either.
When I first saw the picture I thought maybe you may have mis-read it because it reminded me of a Jowett Javelin my uncle had in the 50's. Quite an advanced car in its day.

The most known was the convertible model; it was called Aero fart-fart-dingaling based on the sound it was making on start. I have seen few of those live in Prague, beautiful cars.

Thanks for all the input guys, this is really cool. I can sometimes manage to find something like this, but, can hardly ever find out more on the subject. I'll have to relay this on to my Dad, as I doubt that he knew this either. Of course, by now, he wouldn't remember if he did know this or not though. $:-\$ Cool stuff, thanks again.

Tramp, I don't know who you are referring to, about finding this stuff. Myself, I was just Browsing for anything on Jawa Motorcycles. BTW, Jawa not only had the CZ, but there was an ESO brand involved too. I have yet to find much at all on the ESO. I think that they made 250 and a 500cc model of a Scrambler (or maybe Motocross model and then used the 500cc engine in the Speedway bike. Anyone find anything else?

Appreciate the links. The Jawa 50cc Pioneer (Model 550, I think), is what my 1st motorcycle was originally. But, my Dad modified it pretty heavily and he built the frame so that the engine sat IN THE FRAME, instead of hanging from it and looking like a moped. I still have it, with hopes of rebuilding it someday and getting it back together.

I knew about their sidecars, but that's all. Cool find!

I also knew about the Skoda Automobile. But, I was surprised to learn (when I googled them) that they were still being produced and seem to be doing quite well.

Bill I can't add much to the Eso's except if you wanted to race "speedway" it was one of the bikes to have, I also think that they were used for "Ice Racing".

got a lot of jawa in denmark and side cars velorex..one of the fev to bay in denmark..ve have world thampion in speedvay ole olsen,,back in 70"who vas driving jawa.. one of the leading persons i dkv vas danish jørgen...

The bikes were exported mostly to USSR, in 70 and 80ies were barely competitive in West anyway.
