« on: September 02, 2011, 02:30:18 AM »
Hi i have read in one of the posts on here about a company that will take your discs, remove discs from carrier and replace with drilled discs, but i cant find his name anywhere now, can someone shed some light on who he is, and what sort of price do they charge, thanks

He doesn't remove them from the carriers, but runs a blanching grinder on them to thin them down or get them true.  Formulasuper's the name I believe.  Check the Vendors section.
Just call me Timmaaaaay!!!

Tha's exactly the job done by Len Cooper at C.A.T. Security Engineering in the UK. He takes your old discs, removes the disc, refurbishes the centre and then bolts in a new disc made of cast iron and zinc plated. The zinc plating cleverly stops corrosion in the areas where the pad doesn't contact so making it less rusty looking after it rains! They make stopping a rather awesome one fingered activity!
 Here's some I had done earlier... ;-)

yes they look good, had a word with them today, and going to get mine sent off, £500, its a lot of money, but if needs must, will have to cut back on the red wine.

They really are worth it Cobra - I've had them do it on three bikes now and raced the first two. The braking is awesome if you slap some EBC HH pads in there too. Len's a really top bloke for Honda engineering. You'll be pleased with the result.

Len bought in the cast iron "bar" for my discs originally - it was 290mm diameter and he slices 4mm slices off to make the discs. I think he said it weighed nearly 50 tons!
