Side Car Frame
« on: May 08, 2006, 01:28:57 PM »
Hello,

A friend and I are planning to build a side car using a CB750 sohc engine for classic race.
I've heard that English frames Fiderman were designed or can be easily adapted to use this kind of motor.
Any info or help is really welcome.

Thanks

Now, I can honestly say that my sidecar doesn't look anyway near like that. Those racing
jobs are pretty impressive and I'll bet you get one hell of a ride! I'm not sure who works the
hardest in that situation. I'll bet that 750 gets a good workout. Later on, Bill

If you're in the 'States, I'd try references form WERA and AHRMA. Possibly someone at the AMA or VJMC.  There are a couple of people, inluding Claude, who make frames and ride HP rigs (high powered) at www.sidecar.com  Also, there are several SC related groups at Yahoo Groups and one may have advice on racing rigs.  Also, Google "Dawg Poung Racing"- they have a rig at the IOM right now I think. They're based in the SF Bay Area and the rig they have is Triumph. Long-shot,  but they might have some connections. Cool pix at the site, anyway.

Please post what you find.

Sidecar racing is MUCH more popular in Eurpoe than it is here.  Surely there must be racing organisations that could refer you.  Assuming this is for vintage racing, try contacting the editors of "Classic Bike" magazine.
