Parts compatability
« on: September 05, 2011, 01:26:26 PM »
I have never seen a post where people tell which parts are compatable with other bikes. I know you can go to the search function but wouldn't it be easier if we had a catagory for it. Sometimes when I am in here lookin' for parts.....I see something cool off of a 500/550 and wonder if it would fit on my 750. This could also work for 350/400..........differences of parts between the years (example-- An early seat or grab bar are different than a 77'/78'). Stuff like lights, gauges, fork ears, bar controls, etc.

 www.motogrid.com

Find the bike in question, look up the part, copy that part # and then go back to "quick part search". That will tell you what other models it was used on.

However, I was told by the parts guy at the Honda dealer that if Honda changed one little bolt, they often gave it a new part number. What that meand is that there ARE other parts this will interchange, they just won't show up using the cross reference.
