i picked up a 1972 cb750 from my boss for FREE!

i always liked the bobber style so i started stripping it down and ordered a hard tail from TC BROS CHOPPERS.

i used a harley tank from dennis kirk. took a old set of 7/8 mountain bike bars and flipped them. the rear fender is off a yamaha maxim. cut the stock pipes for now.

i also ordered a set of new tires. bridgestone accolade 100/90-19 front and a 130/80-18 rear

looks like a  nice project... keep us posted.
 btw, you planning on adding baffles to those pipes or going with another set altogether?

im planning on running the pipes wide open for now and re jetting the carbs. if its too obnoxious then i will baffle them or make something else.

the only thing with the tc bros hardtail is you have to drill through the frame for the rear brake pivot, they dont tell you that. also the way they tell you to space the rear wheel is wrong, it puts it way too far to the brake side and the chain will not line up. a little common sense and you will be fine. other then those two little things, i absolutely love the hardtail they sell!

I see other problems with that hard tail. Like all the cut open tubes that can get filled up with water and start to rust inside.
All of the cut off tubing needs to be closed up to prevent corrosion. No oxygen- no corrosion.

I think the stock frame lowered with shorty 11.4 inch shocks is far better all the way around.

Next would be a stock frame with short struts.

Hey I have a TC bros weld on as well. If you have any questions regarding it let me know and I can grab detailed pictures on anything you have questions about. I have been pretty pleased with mine so far. I also have a build thread where you can see my bike in various stages.

You are right I was jumping the gun. The tank looks like a very good choice.
