Neutral switch / light questions
« on: September 07, 2011, 11:04:10 AM »
I picked up a 76 CB750K about a month ago, been going through everything, brakes carbs etc. because it sat of 18 years.

One thing has me stumped, the only way I can get it to crank over is with the clutch in.   The transmision is in neutral but the neutral light won't light and as long as thhe clutch is in, it cranks over and starts fine, but if you release the clutch it will die.

any suggestions as to what to look for ?

The neutral switch could be stuck from sitting so long. (Or the neutral light is burned out.)
Or the bike could be in a "false" neutral.

Do you have the shop manual yet?
You can get it here: http://www.honda4fun.com/man_officina/man_officina.html

After sitting so long there's a good chance the clutch is stuck too.
Do you have a copy of the Honda Shop Manual or Parts List for your bike? Get one here:
