« on: September 08, 2011, 06:27:18 AM »
so I'm sitting having a beer at my favorite pub after work, looking out the door and I watch a car backup abruptly into my bike. >:(.Luckily it was just some minor sh*t.turn signals, peg, etc. But we all know those original honda parts aint cheap.Over 300 bucks so far, just in parts.

I've always been curious about etiquette in these types of situations.  I mean, does the throat punch come before or after the exchange of information? ;D

usually before.  its the attention getter!    ;D
but in this situation the bike assailant was female, so its better to use a ti##y twister.  ;)

Glad to hear she's gonna work with you on $$$ for repairs.  Seeing as you have a bike with a few different faces, BB, how about another tank/seat combo  8)

Poor timing, tough to get a response from someone with a broken windpipe.

but in this situation the bike assailant was female, so its better to use a ti##y twister.  ;)
I'd love to say "think outside the box", but I'm certain this is self explainitory.

It wouldn't matter to me if she knew I had a box of parts. I'd still want to be paid for every part that it took to fix the damage she caused not to mention labor. Its a learning thing. She needs to learn how to be more careful.

You mean one hooker and one blow? this is Western Washington afterall.

Bart, take lot's of pics and check prices new if possible or compare on EBAY. You might be short changing yourself @ $300.

I had the same thing happen to me at work.  I watched the guy back into my SV1000.
I knew he worked at our shop, and I told him to come back at break cause I was too pi$$ed to talk.

He offered to pay cash instead of going through his insurance.  The quote was for $1200 and he turned green and turned over his insurance company.  That made the situation worse because they thought the quote was too high.
In the end, they paid in full less time spent dealing with them
Good Luck!

I had the same thing happen to me years ago. Luckily, there were four bikes, mine was the fourth. It was a hit and run. I only ended up with a dent in the gas tank. The first bike that was hit was damaged pretty heavily. As he was riding home his kickstand fell off. Snapped it right off the frame.
