New from Pittsburgh!
« on: July 19, 2011, 09:28:25 PM »
Hey everybody,
I purchased a 73 CB500 a few weeks ago so that I could restore it with my father.  I haven't posted at all on this site, but it has helped me immensely, so I hope that I can start contributing useful things as well.  I started riding last September after buying a 2010 Ninja 250, but I have always loved the looks of UJMs, in stock and customized form.  So now that I have two bikes in the stable I can surely say that I am addicted.  Soon I will be starting a project thread to track my progress with the bike as well.
Here is a picture of the bike before I started bringing it back to it's former glory:

Looks like a head start over what I just rolled into my driveway.  I'm in Fox Chapel Schools area and starting my first build on a 1975 CB750.  It is rough and I'm clueless so it may be a long Winter project (and then some.)

I'm glad to lend a hand and learn something so please give me a shout.

there is a vintage bike get together at one of Quaker Steak places.  My daughter lives in Greenfield and we visit three or four times ayear.  There is a 650 sitting on Saline St. right down from the Russian Orthodox church.  Its been sitting under a cover for ayear and looks really good.  Whoever is not riding it might sell.
