Clutch outter removal...or maybe not.
« on: May 11, 2006, 10:04:05 PM »
I have the Honda parts manual and the service manual for the 750.
The service manual says that the clutch "outter" will slide outward
off the splined drive shaft after removing the clutch "inner" assembly.
This is after removing both covers...springs..etc. The inner comes out
after removing one special nut, lockwasher, and flat washer. After
removing the inner, the splined washer comes out.

I must be missing something as after all of this the "outter" basket
refuses to budge on the drive shaft. I don't see any mention of a
special tool other then for the nut.  Maybe the thing is just frozen
on the shaft although it has lots of oil on it and no obvious damage.

This BTW is after a slight  ::) amount of impulse encouragement on
the back side of the attached gear with the cases apart.

Any guesses?

Jim

sorry I can't help you with the clutch, but I will borrow your "Impulse encouragement" phrase if that's ok ?
