What do you mean "remove" . The spring compressor will not compress the spring enough to get the keepers out OR the valve will not slip through the guide?

with a lump of rag stuffed in the combustion chamber lay the head on the bench the right way up,this rag will stop the valve from moving, place a socket that will clear the valve stem but still locate on the retainer, strike it with a hammer and the collets will release, have some rag wrapped around the spring to catch the flying collets(keepers),now you only have to get them back together.

you can also use 1/4 inch rope in the bore of the cylinder or an air tool to hold the valve up while you compress the spring to remove the keepers
when you own a motorcycle the wife does not have to find you handy she just has to find you

That's the #1 question here, it the head on or is it off?  Makes a big difference when it comes to tool options.

What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Large C-clamp with a socket over the retainer.  The socket needs a window or slot  cut into it so you can work the keepers with tweezers.

For ur carb, you could peel a single strand of copper from a stranded electrical wire to see if you can dislodge the obstruction.  A guitar string works well also.  Just be careful that you don't change the diameter of the hole.  Use small wires made of soft metal.
