What color?
« on: September 12, 2011, 04:38:45 PM »
Hi, I am restoring/modifying a 1972 CB750four

I am at the point of sending the tank, re pop side covers and fairing to the painters.

I am torn between the 400 four red, the 400 four yellow, ford ranger blue, or pearl white.

here is the bike as it sits

Thanks for your opinions

Curtis

I would worry more about those worn out pogos you have on the rear than I would about a paint job, a bike that fades in a turn will ruing a new paint job if you can't hold a line.

New rear shocks and front springs are coming this winter...

Paint is not my number one priority, its what can be done now when the bike is being stripped.

But thanks for your concern

I'm partial to white. See my build thread on my CB350F to see the results.

I never paint until everything else is done. You are just begging to mess up the paint job taking stuff off and putting it back on.

Just my two cents.

Thanks for the input.

Patrick,

Everything is fitted right now, minus the fairing and re pop side covers. The bike will be sitting dormant the rest of the season and all winter, the body work will be stored inside after it gets painted in my room tempreture storage room. It will be then I wheel the bike into my basement, remove the motor, front end, swing arm and the other bits and pieces to powder coat my frame, swing arm, fork lowers, rims and other tid bits here and there.

The engine will get a good clean up and polish, it wont be until around may it will be going back together for the safety inspection.

Thanks again,
