A long time ago, I sublet a shop off of this fellow. He and his buddy owned a rail together and raced. When I started racing he coached me and I quickly learned the ropes..
His name was Gary Hough and he was 66 yrs old. While making a run in a dragster Saturday afternoon, he went through the 1/8 mile traps at 218km..about 130mph.. and did not decellerate till he went off the far end of the track, ending in a rocky ravine, 300 ft to the side!
Cage remained mostly intact and he was breathing when they got him out and into an air ambulance, but unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries the next morning..

At this point there are a lot of unaswered questions..
