I bought these from a member and thought I’d see what is underneath......the bottom half of the air cleaner was just as bad as the top half. I think it turned out pretty well.

I tried to do the same thing with a top but they had sanded prior to painting so it was futile,that turned out really well.bill

I used 0000 steel wool and paint stripper.
Rub on with moderate pressure for 5 seconds or so and then wipe area with wet rag. Dry are and repeat.
This works on the plastics. Metal is another story.

if the part has just been sprayed over with cheap rattle can paint,ie not auto paint it will come off with the method swoop used,with a natural type stripper without hurting the orginal paint,solvent based strippers will take everything off.bill
