Nylon rim savers
« on: September 13, 2011, 01:55:36 PM »
I had never heard of this item before, but for $4, they worked great. Had my rims rechromed and was worried about scratching them getting the tires on.
Also, this site was under the radar from me for a long time. They have a bunch of stuff.

I have a couple of sets of them. I believe that they are manufactured by Hap Jones. I've changed probably 10 to 12 tires with them. Definitely worth the money.

You can also cut some 'patches' out of a liter soft drink bottle. They are thinner, which gives you a little more working room, but of course they are one use, throw-away.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.
