I don't have an after yet. Starting Trade school this winter, so come spring I need something cheaper to drive. So out of the 20 year sleep comes the bike.

Here she is. My 1980 CB650. 7950 miles. It's my first "big" bike. Rode smaller bikes around offroad for years. When my dad bought it in 1980 it was his first big bike too. It was sold once but it must like him cuz it came back in the bed of a truck.

Going to be a bit doing some of everything. So i'm probably going to leave it stock proformace wise. If I have electrical issues I'm planning on doing the HEI conversion and the Homebrew Reg and rectifier. Though i do Like the look of 4 into 4's, wish it had those.

This is my first attempt at any kind of motorcycle work. Had the whole thing apart except the main engine components as it only has 8000 miles on it and had compression. Starts like a champ and runs good....still need to balance the carbs, get a new blinker relay and start button.

replaced the swing arm (found one with better paint) and the bars are from a '76, when they where still low. Other than that it is all original, even the paint.

If you look close at the speedometer in my profile pic you can see it's a canuck issued machine, little kmh markers on the inside.....but I am pretty sure the odo is in miles cause the mph markings are more prominent. Thanks for the encouragement, its a lot of work but well worth it. Now I am hooked! One more pic for posterity.

It's actually a triple-A exhaust from the 70's. I pulled it off of a cb750 that I parted out 15+ years ago. It was all scratched, beaten up and the chrome was shot because it had been laid down, but the price was right. (free) I cut it between the collector and the muffler, then added a couple of scrap pieces of 1-3/4" stainless exhaust pipe (which was also free). I welded it together so that it runs tight to the frame and the muffler matched the lines of the hardtail. I lengthened it also, so that the megaphone stops where the hardtail comes to a point.

I also had to change from studs to spigots to put this exhaust on.

Probably the hardest thing, was to copy a banana plate design for forward controls, then convert it to mount my highway pegs onto. The mounting plate actually comes out between the #2 and #3 header pipe.

Here is my K0 that I bought one Year and one day ago, the bike was incomplete and in a very bad condition.
No HM 300 4in4 , no K0 oil tank, no K0 gas tank, no K0 carbs, no...
Started the rebuild ~march/april but I only had time at the weekends so it took a little bit longer to complete it.
Still waiting for the K0 side cover emblems and the switches/controls but I have to pass the technical inspection and get a license plate next Tuesday.

well, this is my 100% modded '79 Honda SOHC1 XL600
after 1,5 year hard work it's near finished, just fitting the taillight and upholstery.

it all started with this smoking leaky #$%*er, I was planning to make it more like a oldschool dirt el sinore or hardtail bobber

lowered it RAD, CB360 tank, bars, all susp.parts, lights, speedo, wheels and big brake mod,..... never ending list....

After getting the engine sorted and parts modded it looked like this,
I jumped more than a year between the pics.

And now it is looking like this, against my first plans or expectations and I like it!

some will like it more without the fairing-seat tail, I did but it because missed something in rainy weather.
(umm yes that is a sigarette lighter on my dash

)

Big love to all of you, I'm currently workin on both bikes and can't wait to ave my CB650's before and after pics.

Finally got some pics uploaded. Prob should have cleaned her up first - I've riding her hard for a few weeks straight now...
