Gene from an onboard camera...
« on: September 18, 2011, 04:31:50 PM »
OK..it's a 175 but.... Gene is a forum member racing a CL175, #521. Another fella in the race has onboard and he is on a 175 as well. Gene has fresh tires so for 2 laps so he takes it easy. At 3:40 he drops the hammer. Within a lap he is running with the 350's. It is great to watch him walk away from the other 175's. I know it's not 550/750 but it is a Honda.
Watch the start (you can see 521) and than move it to 3:40.
Sam...this is for you and your love of those little engines "that can". ;) I did the headwork for the bike and Sam was at my house when it was happening.

Well done Gene (and Mike). That looks like a tidy race bike, I'd like to see more. I didn't make it to NHIS this summer but will definitely try for next year. Those are great little engines, we had a 68 twin carb CB for a few years.

Awesome.

Thanks guys. Credit also goes to Rick Stetson at Harry's Performance Machine for the dyno tuning. Rick really does known what he is doing and helped Gene out a lot this early summer. I'm sure Gene will agree. ;)
PS...Gene was hitting 100mph at the end of the front straight. Nice. :)

Thank you guys.

Mike and Rick did a great job on the bike this year. Not the type of bike you see them do everyday.

Our season ended this past weekend. I had more of a battle as the other guys were swapping gears to make up time. This from Saturday, it gets a bit cloudy but in the end I finish well. We have GP350 bikes on the grid with us.
